Community-Focused Projects

At BLOOMISTRY, our community projects are designed to strengthen the bond between individuals, communities, and the natural world.

We organize hands-on, learning experiences that empower local residents, and inspire future generations, to revitalize their community parks, gardens and green spaces using affordable and healthy practices.

Together, we can weave a vibrant web of bountiful and resilient pocket-ecosystems, that sustain and benefit all biodiversity, native wildlife, local pollinators, and human communities.

We aim to instill a deep understanding of

  • ecological stewardship

  • sustainable living practices

  • beyond-organic gardening techniques

in our youth, and other marginalized community groups.

Every initiative serves a dual purpose

Restore the beauty and resiliency of our environment

Foster inclusivity, community enrichment and a sense of belonging

How To Create Spaces Where Nature & People Thrive Together

  • Enhance local biodiversity with native plant landscaping and pollinator-friendly gardens

  • Enrich your community by planting medicinal and nutritional plants

  • Cultivate an organic food forest or community garden and feed the neighborhood fresh, healthy produce

  • Foster a genuine connection and appreciation for the environment by identifying plants in your area

Our Projects & Initiatives

  • Create or Restore an Urban Community Garden

Provide communities with the tools, materials, and knowledge to operate an organic community garden.

  • Sponsor a School Garden

Bring hands-on gardening education to the kids! Provide teaching resources, raised beds, and organic compost, soil, seeds, and starter plants for a school garden.

  • Sponsor a Workshop At Senior Living Center

Sponsor a botanical art or nature workshop for a senior living center in our area.

  • Construct a Native Pollinator Habitat

Restore pollinator-friendly habitats by funding native plant installations, wildflower meadow restoration, and educational outreach to protect these crucial species.

  • Protect Native Wildlife

Help us protect native species and restore vital ecosystems. Support habitat preservation efforts, tree planting initiatives, and conservation workshops that educate communities about sustainable land stewardship.

  • Eco-Exploration Clean-Ups

Gather a group of friends to explore Richmond’s green spaces, and learn about native ecosystems while cleaning up trash. Combine an outdoor adventure with environmental activism to inspire teamwork and a commitment to sustainability!
